Day 97 – Chaiday 15th January

Today was the first leaving day for The Teas.  Chai’s new mum, Emily came to pick him up this evening.  It was so lovely to sit down for a chat again with Em, and I know her sister, Jo, was at home making everything ready for the new arrival.  I just couldn’t have invented better parents for my darling Chai.  He is such a laid-back snuggle boy, and I know he will be getting all the attention and cuddles he could wish for, and Jo’s Siamese girl Lily as a new sister.  Valentine also thinks the world of Emily, and was desperately trying to leave with her <sigh>.

I also managed to get my last photos of the complete Cuddle Puddle on top of the fish tank.  I am so proud of my Teas, they are all wonderful babies, and Phoenix has been an amazing first time mum.

It was very hard to watch Em and Chai drive off down the road, but I know they will send me updates, and I can’t wait for some photos of Chai in his new house.

Day 93 – Monday 11th January

The weather let me get to work today, but Tony was at home not feeling very well, so you have him to thank for all the photos!

The nice part of having been out of the house was to come home and sit on the sofa to be instantly mobbed by The Teas who wanted to fall asleep all over me.  Admittedly this doesn’t help with getting diary updates written, or replying to emails, and especially not with editing photos.

I hope the new parents are prepared for how much their babies are eating.  Whenever the cats are called for dinner there is a stampede, sounding like a mini thunder storm, and a tidal wave of kittens comes speeding along from wherever they happen to be.

Day 92 – Sunday 10th January

I could swear that cats know which day is Sunday, and demand that the Sunday Laziness Law be observed.  Everyone does love lounging and snuggling and generally wasting time.  Absolute bliss!

One thing I have so far forgotten to mention is that the registrations have arrived.  I am so pleased that The Teas will have their paperwork to take home with them.  I know it can always be sent on later, but it’s always nice to have the ‘log book’ at the same time as the baby J

Having spoken to a few of The Teas’ new families today, I am again reminded of how lucky I have been with finding them new homes.  I also think the new families are lucky in finding their Teas J  They are such purry, wonderful babies, and I hope they will make their new parents very happy.

So, here are the individual photos.  Anyone who knows Chai will not be surprised to see that he was not at all interested in posing nicely, but wanted to wriggle himself into a cuddle instead.

Day 91 - Saturday 9th January

Today I did something completely against my nature and went out into the snow.  We are lucky in that our local supermarket is within walking distance.  Which is great, except it means there was no avoiding the fact that we ought to walk down there and stock up on some more meat for the cats.  Walking in the polar conditions is something I am definitely not keen to repeat in a hurry.  The up-side of the expedition is that I also brought back some wine!

The Teas (and in fact, all of the cats) are totally oblivious to the chaos being caused by the weather of course.  All they know is that the heating is turned up higher, and they have had people around more than usual.

The babies are really pretty much independent people now, but I have noticed that if she is feeling a little ignored, Phoenix will plonk herself in the middle of a kitten pile so that they start to suckle.  Admittedly she does get tired of this pretty quickly now they are so big, but it’s lovely to see that she has such a strong mothering instinct.  It’s no surprise, considering the line of wonderful mothers that she comes from, but still gratifying to see.

I did get some individual pictures of The Teas today, but they still need editing, so I’ll just include a few of our snow for now.
