Day 61 – Thursday 10th December

Today I’m going to talk about pee and pooh.  I know this will appeal to a limited amount of people, but it’s actually rather important.  Mostly, The Teas are good with using litter trays.  In fact, I have been impressed at how easily they have caught on to how the whole thing works.  The situation in which this falls down is when the trays aren’t clean enough for the babies, and there is a convenient blanket to pee on instead.  I can’t be angry with them for that – we all know that cats don’t want to go into a less than perfect litter tray.  Over the last week or so, because the babies are growing up, there has been more ‘traffic’ through the trays, and as I’m out at work during the day, I don’t get the chance to clean them as often as I would like.  So, tomorrow I am going to buy more trays, and distribute them throughout the house so that there is always a clean tray near to anyone needing a pee.

As strange as it sounds, it is a total joy to find kitten sized poohs in the litter tray whenever they are being emptied.  For starters, it seems that they are always in the right place, and for seconds, it gives an indication of how everyone’s stomachs are doing.  To have examples of non-runny, non-smelly kitten poohs is a strangely wonderful thing.

Day 60 – Wednesday 9th December

The Teas are total hooligans.

I arrived home rather tired and emotional today, with the intention of sitting down and sinking into a very large gin and tonic.  I was in the lucky position of being the second one home, so litter trays were done, and dinner number one was underway. Within around six and a half minutes, there were four babies playing idiots on my lap.  Another two minutes later, and all seven Teas were playing some massively eccentric game with me as some sort of centrepiece.  I still have no idea what was going on.

Yesterday Oolong had another visit from his new mum, and it was really interesting to see that they seem to have a connection already.  When he is in Louise’s lap, he curls up and goes straight to sleep.  This is lovely of course, but I’m sure Louise would actually like to see her little boy awake at some point <sigh>.  I just wish she could see how much of a little nutter he is when she’s not here.

Day 59 – Tuesday 8th December

I have to admit that today’s entry has absolutely nothing to do with today.  While I was sorting through some photos I realised that I hadn’t shared some lovely pictures from Chai’s mum’s visit.  Chai is particularly lucky in that he will not only have his own new mum Emily to live with, but also her sister Jo, and Jo’s Siamese girl Lily.  Having had a terrible week last week, Emily and Jo’s visit at the weekend was such a tonic, and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting them.  Valentine was also rather impressed with his son’s new family and had some lovely cuddles.

Thank you Jo and Emily for a bright point in my week.

The photos aren't from today either, but things aren't back to normal here yet, so at least there are some.
